Here are some sweet treat recipes for a basketball theme party - slam dunk cookies…
Simple and chic golf theme cake
Posted under food & recipes, golf, sports

All together now: ooooooh. That is one COOL golf cake! Just “grass,” a ball, and a cup. It’s so simple, so chic, so utterly perfect for a golf party or for Father’s Day… and it’s a totally do-able DIY!
The cake is by Lindsay of Love and Olive Oil, who came up with the brilliant idea to create the golf hole using a shot glass (!!) as well as the scrumptious recipe. Are you ready for this?! Underneath that lovely exterior, this is a chocolate stout cake with dulce de leche and vanilla bean buttercream!
The recipe calls for a bottle of beer in the cake batter, so for kids’ parties you might want to sub in a “regular” chocolate cake – the alcohol evaporates out as the cake bakes, but still, it may be a sophisticated flavor for children. Lindsay says the chocolate stout cake has a slight malty taste, though it “mostly just comes across as rich, chocolatey, and incredibly dense and delicious, almost brownie-like.” Which of course, to me and every other adult choco-holic, sounds fantastic. : )
You can get the full recipe and check out more gorgeous cake pics at Love and Olive Oil.
And, here’s some info on where to get a golf ball mold like the one Lindsay used to make the golf ball on the cake. (It’s made of white chocolate!)
