DIY washable glittered glassware

Break out the glitter! This is one of the coolest tricks I’ve seen β how to add glitter and then make it washable! Katherine of Inspire, Design, & Create made these super festive “dipped” wine glasses and added two coats of clear sealant to make them hand-washable. So, now you can create glittered glassware that can be washed and re-used, like these fabulous wine glasses.

I love the multi-colored glasses for Christmas, and the silver and black glasses for New Year’s, but this is a great idea for just about every holiday or event. Any birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower (or, you know, any ol’ Thursday) can use a little glitter, right? ; )
Here’s how to make glittered glasses
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Mod Podge
- a cheap paintbrush
- glitter
- glasses
- Rust-oleum
- a plastic bag
- painter’s tape
Brush the glue on the base of your glass. Sprinkle glitter all over the glue, then let dry overnight.

Then, to make your stemware washable (hand wash only), you’ll need to spray 1 or 2 coats of clear sealant over the top of the glittered area. Before spraying, tape a plastic bag over the part of the glass that you don’t need to cover with a clear coat.

After spraying, let the Rust-oleum dry thoroughly. Then, your glasses are ready for use!
