This pretty, pink first birthday party was submitted by my sweet customer Maria! She says, “I had a great time planning Isabella’s party. It was a huge hit – an explosion of pink and lollies! This is my first time with being ‘crafty’ but you made it look so easy with your printables. I had my balloon and tables/chairs supplier comment that I should plan and style their clients’ parties! Hilarious – especially for someone who never held a glue gun before!”

Huge custom made door sign - made using a printable sign from Chickabug

I thought I’d seen just about everything by now, but I’ve never seen a sign quite as large as this at a birthday party! I asked Maria how she did it, and she said: “I took the custom sign file you designed and had it professionally printed by a large-scale printer. It’s actually made of tarpaulin. The door to the venue was not very pretty so I wanted to cover it and at the same time create an impact for guests as they arrive.”

Maria created a backdrop from individually sewn ruffled streamers and hung a printable banner overtop.

Cupcake topper circles were put to good use – on party hats, homemade centerpieces, on straws, and more!

To make her buffet labels, Maria ordered buffet cards and cut the frame shapes from the cards.

I love this idea – it’s a “design your own cupcake” table, with the table and stools at a child’s height! After decorating the cupcakes, the kids could eat them or take them home in pink favor boxes.

To make the centerpieces, Maria says, “My husband created the circles in different sizes in powerpoint and I printed the templates, then traced them on pink, white and yellow paper. I cut the circles by hand and glued them together. I used one of your cupcake circles as the center and it turned out to be a great touch! The flower is double-sided so I could insert a stick in the middle with the help of a glue gun.”

“I also made bows using color-coordinated ribbons and glued buttons in the center to pull it all together. I hot-glued the bow to the flower. I used styrofoam to hold the flower in a glass jar, then filled the jar with candy to cover the styrofoam.”

Ice cream cone pinata

Maria’s husband made the ice cream cone piñata. Maria says, “We couldn’t find unbleached coffee filters here so we just used yellow crepe paper for the cone. For the ice cream part, we actually used some of my ruffled streamers. The different textures of the paper used for the cone and for the ice cream worked really well, plus the contrasting dark pink and yellow really made the piñata pop!”

The party favors are handmade candy-shaped pillows, each specially embroidered with children’s names.

Sweet shoppe 1st birthday party high chair

Isabella’s personalized bib and hat are from Etsy. The high chair ribbon banner is homemade. Maria says, “I bought ribbons in different shades of pink, white and polka dots – all roughly the same width – and simply cut them in varying lengths. I then glued the ribbons to a white ribbon that was roughly double in width and then taped it to the chair! So easy!!”

Super sweet 1st birthday outfit

Isabella’s personalized diaper cover and tutu were also from Etsy.
