Rainbow party: Dylan Grace is 2!
Posted under Birthday Parties, parties for girls, rainbow
I’m just blown away by this gorgeous rainbow theme birthday party! My sweet customer Bethany created the party for her 2-year-old daughter, Dylan Grace. Bethany says:
“We started working with Dylan on her colors shortly after she turned 1, and by 18 months she knew every color. Meanwhile, Mommy is obsessed with white. Obsessed. So, I brought all the colors of the rainbow together with lots of white. I love the classic and fresh look of white with the bright rainbow colors!”

The printable “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” poster is from Ta Love (they have since closed), and the rainbow tablecloth is actually a vintage twin bed sheet – a one-of-a-kind find from Bizarre Baubles.

Birthday girl Dylan Grace is wearing a chevron rainbow dress from Tadpoles and Bubblegum. I love what Bethany has to say about her daughter: “The party represented everything Dylan has been to us since the day she was born. (She is the first and only grandchild, so you can imagine just how adored she is.) She has brought our families so much joy and so much life. Cliche, but there is no one color to best describe her: she is every single one of them. ;)”

The pom-pom topper on the all-white birthday cake is homemade. I love the simplicity and elegance of this cake!

The chocolate dipped Oreos and rainbow colored cake balls are both homemade. The printable buffet cards (with individual personalization added) are from Chickabug.

The rainbow cakes in a jar were made by Two Sisters Bakery (Norman, OK), and the cute polka dotted wooden spoons are from The Bakers Confections.

Who knew that Kettle chips came in every color of the rainbow? (I didn’t!) Bethany bought these on Amazon.

More fun rainbow party food – rainbow fruit kebabs and rainbow Jello served in orange slices!

Dylan’s cupcakes were decorated with colored cupcake wrappers from Your Little Cupcake plus customized stickers from Chickabug.

The chevron rainbow tablecloth was made with Riley Blake fabric in Medium Chevron Rainbow. The water labels and printables are from Chickabug, and the paper straws are from Party Delights.

Switch sodas in every color of the rainbow are the perfect party drink!

Another good use for customized stickers: put them on multicolored paper cups!

Time for games! This is a fabulous idea: spin art! The spin art machines on Amazon, and the printable sign is from Chickabug. Bethany says the spin art was a HUGE hit: “The spin art was way cool! I’d suggest having at least 2 spin art machines for parties with 15 kids or more. There was a constant line to use them, the kids loved them so much!”

Another great idea: making tie-dyed t-shirts! To keep the kids clean, art smocks and children’s size rubber gloves from Dick Blick Art Materials were provided. Bethany says, “I highly suggest the tie dye shirts activity! The shirts turned out amazing, with bright colors. I pre-soaked the shirts in soda ash the morning of the party, then had the shirts already wrapped with rubber bands and sealed in Ziploc baggies. All the kids had to do was apply the dye and then put their shirt back into bag. The bags were even pre-labeled with the children’s names, and had care instructions for the parents to follow at home.”

Kids put their dyed (and still wet) t-shirts into plastic bags to take home. The bags had instructions written on them so that parents would be able to get the shirts ready to wear.

No rainbow party is complete without arts and crafts! Kids made noodle necklaces using brightly colored noodles…

…and there was an art station for coloring.

So. Stinkin’. Cute. : )

Dylan’s custom-made chair banner and party hat are just ah-mazing. They were both from Party Nest Designs.

Dylan Grace’s rainbow bib is from Ellie Anne’s.

At the end of the party, guests filled up bags of rainbow candy. The striped paper bags are from Pink Lemonade Party.

The kids also took home birthday cake scented Sensa-Dough from My Little Otter. Each jar was finished with a custom sticker from Chickabug. (And P.S. – I can vouch for My Little Otter and tell you, their birthday cake scent is fantastic!)

Such an absolutely amazing party – thank you so much for sharing, Bethany! Happy 2nd birthday to Dylan!
