Character-based birthday parties can be tricky if you don't want to go with ultra-bright colors…
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party

This adorable birthday party for a brother and sister, submitted by Full Time Wife Life, will have you singing M-I-C… K-E-Y… M-O-U-S-E! It’s oh-so-perfectly Mickey, with a little dash of Minnie, too. And all of the ideas are totally doable, which I love. You’re going to want to pin this one for later! Enjoy!!

The 3-year-old birthday boy’s cake was decorated to look like Mickey Mouse, with two black ears and two white buttons (white candy melts).

The other party food included dipped Mickey Mouse Oreo pops (the ears are made from black candy melts)…

…Mickey Mouse Rice Krispies treats that were cut out with a cookie cutter…

…and best of all, a Mickey Mouse make-your-own sandwich station, where everything is cut in Mickey Mouse shapes – bread, cheeses, lunchmeat, and all!

The 1-year-old birthday girl’s cake was decorated to be reminiscent of Minnie Mouse. The polka dots are white candy melts. I love the simplicity of this cake!

Two Oreos is all it takes for these cupcakes to look just like Mickey!

A homemade bunting banner was hung over a curtain rod. Note the pennant that has Mickey Mouse’s buttons, and the pennant that has Minnie Mouse’s polka dots.

The kids enjoyed playing with a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse bean bag toss. The backer is made out of a science display board, and the Minnie-esque bean bags are made from black balloons filled with beans and tied with a ribbon.

Everything shown in this post is homemade/handmade. Awesome, huh?! : )
