Mom Melanie sent me some lovely photos from her daughter Kamila's cherry theme first birthday…
Mermaid party: Isabella is 7!

Seashells and pastel candies and pearls from the sea… this sea-worthy party is everything a little mermaid could hope for! For her daughter Isabella’s seventh birthday, mom Domenica created a sophisticated mermaid theme party in muted shades of aqua, pink and white.

Domenica bought sea green chalkboard signs at HomeSense (the Canadian version of HomeGoods, she says) and added “Mermaids this way!” in white chalk.

Domenica also drew a large mermaid on the sidewalk in blue chalk, where the kids could see it as they arrived to the party.

I just adore these chair decorations! Domenica says, “My sister and I were crazy enough to attempt to hand make the chair decor! We bought the burlap from the gardening section at Michael’s and hot glued the ribbon and shells to it. The ribbon and shells also came from Michael’s.”

The table is decorated with a pink tablecloth, a sandy beige runner, jars filled with sea glass, and starfish and shells.

The lovely cake and cupcakes were adorned with sophisticated white and pink pearls and seashells.

I can’t imagine prettier marshmallow pops for a mermaid theme! They’re dipped in aqua colored Wilton sugar pearls from Michael’s.

Pink chocolate shell candies and pastel candy twists are presented in simple and elegant glass jars.

A cluster of pink, white and aqua party poms hang alongside a pink and white streamer backdrop.

Pink and aqua “mermaid tails” are lined up for the girls to wear (and later, to take home).

Inside of the favor bags, Isabella’s friends found mermaid coloring sheets, a seashell necklace, and starfish and shell-shaped chocolates.

One last parting gift – white flip flops!

Just absolutely lovely! Thank you so much for sharing, Domenica, and happy birthday to Isabella! : )
