Hi! I’m Heather Dalton, the gal behind Chickabug – both the shop and the blog. I’m glad you’re here! This blog is where I share party ideas, customer photos, DIY projects, free printables, recipes, holiday ideas, and other fun things that catch my eye. Oh… and pictures of cupcakes. Lots and lots of cupcakes!
A little about me: I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in art, then worked as a graphic designer/art director for 10 years. Though it was sometimes fun to work for “big name” clients, I wanted to do something more meaningful — to make things that actually meant something to someone. I’d always loved designing invitations, so I started posting my designs to Etsy and working one-on-one with customers.
Within a year, I quit my day job, and just a few short years of tireless work later (*wink*), Chickabug has grown into a small business with a full-time staff of three. Most days I still look around and think, how did my little side project become a real company?! Needless to say, I feel very fortunate to make a living doing what I love!
When I’m not designing something new for the shop, blogging, or indulging my obsession with Pinterest, I love doing CrossFit, playing the piano, and spending every minute with my incredibly loyal rescue dog, Charlotte. (That’s her to the right, there, using my living room curtains as a blanket… just one of her many specialties.) I’m also proud to be the exclusive printables designer for my favorite blog, HowDoesShe.

About the shop & our products
Since 2009, Chickabug, LLC has specialized in high-quality paper goods and easy-to-use DIY printables for parties. When it comes to your special party, we believe it’s the little touches that matter most. And with over 100 party themes to choose from and a wide variety of products within each theme, there’s something here for everyone!
Invitations and thank you cards are printed on a professional press using the thickest card stock available. We also create custom stickers and 100% waterproof water labels. Quality counts, and we get amazing feedback from our customers!
DIY printables come pre-personalized, so all you have to do is print. Each item also comes with its own instructions sheet for printing and assembly, so even if you’re new to DIY papercrafting you’ll know just what to do.
I designed this blog, and it was coded and implemented by the amazing Otis McCort of Example 7.
