How to make over your folding chairs with spray paint

It’s funny – it’s always on special occasions when you find out just how few extra chairs you actually have. Or if you’re like me, the trouble is that you have a few extra folding chairs lying around, but they aren’t actually presentable. That’s why I love this idea by Kelly at The Moon and Me! You can take your old folding chairs and do a spray paint makeover!

Spray painted folding chairs in rainbow colors

For her chairs, Kelly went with a rainbow of pastel colors, and she tried out lots of different brands of spray paint before finding that Krylon worked best.

Spray painted folding chairs - before and after!

It’s so very simple – but so very awesome! For more details on this project, visit The Moon and Me.

Question...did you have to sand and prime?

Hi Renee! I read through Kelly's original post and she said she only primed the vinyl cushions. If the chairs are going to have very heavy use I'd probably recommend sanding and priming, it's always a good idea to do so in any painting project I think. To really go the distance you could also apply a sealer as the top coat.

I bet you could find some on Freecycle, at Goodwill, etc. - people don't know they have their hands on a fab craft project and not a junky chair! ; )
