Pretty ways to dress up a cake stand

Cake stands are just a minor obsession of mine – I’ve never met one I didn’t like! But, pretty as they are, they eat up so much storage space. A perfect solution is to invest in a simple, classic cake stand or two and then dress them up in different ways at each party. Check out these pretty options:

1. Miniature pom poms are oh so sweet! – via Kara’s Party Ideas

2. Miniature bunting or little flags cut from scrapbook paper is super cute – via Homemade By Jill

3. These little mini buntings are shown in red, white and blue, but you can use any color of streamers to make them match any event – via BHG
“Display a cake with festive flair: Fold 2-inch sections of a red, white, and blue streamer into accordions. Hot-glue each to the bottom of a white cake stand for a patriotic twist.”

4. A strip of colored paper and a ribbon are quick and pretty – via BHG
“Skirt a footed cake plate with a sash of colorful paper and a ribbon belt. Just cut a 3-inch strip of cardstock and attach it to the rim of the plate with double-stick tape. (A cake plate with a flat, wide rim works best.)”

5. Adding a tutu to the bottom of a tiered cupcake stand is girly-girl gorgeous! – available for purchase at Oh So Sweet Stands on Etsy

6. For an elegant event, trim a cake platter with glass beads – via BHG
“Glass beads from a necklace, rethreaded onto light-gauge wire, dangle like earrings from the scalloped edge of a glass cake stand.”
