Goldfish party: Alek is 1!

One-year-old Alek’s love of swimming and of being in the water inspired the theme for his adorable goldfish themed birthday party. Alek’s crafty mama, Melita, set the scene with all blue and orange decor, and she ordered the rest of her party supplies from Etsy!

Alek’s gorgeous cake was made by Beverly’s Best Bakery of Orange County, CA. It’s the perfect cake to match his invitation!

The handmade banner behind the treats table is by A to Zebra Celebrations.

This little “one” is a sweet way to anchor balloons in place! Melita says she painted the letters several times to get the color just right.

The macarons are by Sparkles Macaron and the chocolate covered Oreos are by Sweeties by Kim.

A goldfish sticker from my shop dresses up the popcorn jar. The lollipops (love them!!) are by Vintage Confections.

The fabulous decorated sugar cookies were created by Kay of Rollin’ In Dough (who made the round, blue cookies with Alek’s name on them) and by Renee of Bee’s Knees Creative (who made all of the other cookies shown).

Guests were served apple and orange Izze sodas and water with custom made labels.

Melita made the straw flags herself, and the straws are from IsAKay Boutique.

Setting up an activity area for the kids is a great idea!

Melita hired a caricaturist to create that extra special touch, and to send each guest home with a really memorable party favor.

To label each party favor bucket, Melita put favor circles onto simple-and-sweet cardboard tags.

Such a precious birthday boy! : ) Thanks so much for sharing, Melita! Happy birthday to Alek!
