Summer is the perfect time for ice cream – and ice cream parties! I’ve been getting lots of requests for the Sweet Shoppe theme, with the text changed to be “Ice Cream Shoppe” instead. Super cute!
So, with the ice cream party theme in mind, here are two delicious recipes that I’ve tried lately. They are my very favorite kind of recipe: homemade enough to impress your friends, but so simple it’s totally ridiculous. : ) For your ice cream party, you could have either recipe pre-made and ready to serve, or you could help the kids make it as a fun party activity! And since both recipes are dairy free and have no added sugar, they’re good for most everyone, no matter their dietary restrictions. Perfect!
Yes, you read that right! One ingredient – just bananas – and so delicious! All you need are over-ripe, frozen bananas and a food processor. You can add in peanut butter for a tasty variation or just enjoy it plain. And of course you can top it all off with whatever yummy toppings you have on your dessert table! For full instructions (and more pretty pictures, too) check out the original post at The Kitchn.
This recipe has all of FOUR ingredients: strawberries, bananas, non-dairy milk, and a little sweetener. Once again, the fruit is frozen and food processed into deliciousness! The recipe is from Fat Free Vegan Kitchen, so it calls for a little non-dairy milk (such as soy, almond, or coconut), but you could also use juice or even water. And really – it is so good – everyone might just pass on the store bought ice cream!
